Richrath Project 3:13 is a band that honors and celebrates the late Gary Richrath, who was a songwriter and guitarist in REO Speedwagon. Michael was the vocalist for Gary's solo band starting in the late '80s, and more recently he has released a new album with this band called "L.A. Is Mine". In this interview, we discuss how Michael met and started working with Gary Richrath, their 1992 album "Only the Strong Survive", Gary’s songwriting process, the band’s new album “L.A. Is Mine”, and how they tackle the modern challenges that come with touring and promoting a new record.

We also discuss a recent local controversy involving one of Bob's songs, and we reflect on how our various opinions about Bob and his music evolved over the course of this mini-series. John came on the show to promote his new tour that celebrates both the 40th Anniversary of Asia's 1982 debut album and the 30th Anniversary of 1992's "Aqua", which was John's first album with Asia. In this interview, we discuss the new tour, what these two albums mean to him personally, his experience recording "Aqua", the songs he is most looking forward to playing, how he is designing the setlist, and what fans can look forward to this summer. John also shares some memories of his friend, Tony Lewis. Tony Lewis was the frontman of The Outfield and he passed away unexpectedly in 2020. Tony and John had played together and become close friends in Tony's last years.

In this interview, we discuss how he got the job at MTV, what he did during his time there, the documentaries he produced for artists like Asia, Hall & Oates, and Bruce Springsteen, his memories of MTV Awards shows, and why he eventually left MTV at the end of the '80s. We also discuss the podcast he currently co-hosts with former Saturday Night Live cast member Gary Kroeger, "The Gary & Kenny Show".
