April 29, 2021

For this beer-soaked episode of Play That Rock'n'Roll, we are joined by my friend Kyle to sample seven beers that were produced or inspired by some of our favorite rockstars. We try TROOPER and SUN AND STEEL from Robinsons, A TOUT LE MONDE from Unibroue, TOUCH OF HAZE and SOUNDBOARD from Destihl, BITCHES BREW from Dogfish Head, and LANDSHARK LAGER! Ep 21: Sampling Heaven’s Door Whiskey & Discussing Bob Dylan

April 15, 2021

For this free-wheeling episode of Play That Rock'n'Roll, we are joined by my friend Chris to sample Heaven's Door Double Barrel Whiskey, which was produced by a distillery that partnered with Bob Dylan. Once we get a taste of the whiskey, we pivot to a discussion about the man behind it. We talk about Bob's songwriting, vocal stylings, and connections to both classic rock and folk. We laugh about some of the funnier aspects of Bob's career, and we share our experiences of seeing Bob in concert. And finally, we list off a few of our favorite albums and songs.

Ep 19: Katey Sagal (Music Career Retrospective)

Ep 19: Katey Sagal (Music Career Retrospective)

March 4, 2021

Everyone knows Katey Sagal as the star of "Married... with Children", "Futurama", "8 Simple Rules", or "Sons of Anarchy", but not nearly enough people know that her true artistic passion is music. In this episode I dive into Katey's discography, but also her stories and connections to the larger world of Classic Rock, as she has crossed paths with Bob Dylan, Kiss, Molly Hatchet, Willie Dixon, and even the Rolling Stones! This is definitely an unconventional choice for a rock show, but the material is too good to pass up!

Ep 14: The Outfield (Retrospective)

Ep 14: The Outfield (Retrospective)

November 15, 2020

In light of the recent passing of Tony Lewis, Episode 14 takes a look back at the career and music of The Outfield. We discuss how the partnership between bassist/vocalist Tony Lewis, guitarist/songwriter John Spinks and drummer Alan Jackman created maybe *the* greatest pop-rock song of the 1980's, in addition to the rest of their catalog, which includes a tremendous amount of wonderful music. John and Tony have since passed away, so this episode has been recorded in tribute to them, and it is meant as a celebration of the incredible work these men gave to the world. RIP.
